It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

In the end, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not fall short again.

If this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Many contend the argument supporting final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this knock was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it was a frustrating experience because it appeared I've had no rhythm whatsoever," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you take the field, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in every game, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and after that Healy was in motion.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the belief to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

These statements will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

In recent days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those physical issues have delayed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.
